Things On My Mind |
10/14/2016 0 Comments HUDA BEAUTY by Huda KattanI am absolutely obsessed with Huda Beauty. I recently purchased their Textured Shadows Palette Rose Gold Edition and their Liquid Matte in Video Star (A shout out pink red) from their website: http://www.shophudabeauty.com/index.php . The first time I went on their website to get the shadows, the day it launched, it crashed. Then about a day or so later, I just so happened to go on at 1AM and saw that they were able to relaunch the website. Luckily, I was able to place my order and pay for it because within seconds the palette was sold out. Huda Kattan and her sisters are the brains behind this amazing brand. They sell the following products:
So in love with the beautiful packaging. The Liquid Matte smells divine, and unlike some other mattes, it does not leave the lips feeling dry. The colour Video Star is a very bright pink, so I recommend when you wear it, you leave the rest of your makeup simple. The reason I bought this eye shadow palette was because it has 3D Metal Shadows which is something that has not been created before. These shadows create a beautiful textured look on the eyelid.
The colours in this palette can be used to create any look, from a natural to smokey eye, the possibilities and colour combinations are endless. The colours are also super pigment, so they show gorgeously when used. Another thing I love about this palette are the names of the shadows, they are so cute. I hope you enjoyed my first makeup review.

8/30/2016 0 Comments ProcrastinationThe action of delaying or postponing something... A word I'm too familiar with. My very enemy that I always give in to. Being a student in university, I get a lot of homework, assignments and tests. I'm nearly 20 years old and as an adult I'm expected to have my life in control especially things concerning university; start with university work early, do university work on time and be early to classes BUT to be honest I don't. If I'm given an assignment that I have a month to do, chances are that I will only start with it 3 days before its due, which is terrible. I am then stressed out beyond belief and I don't know whether I'm coming or going. I will be doing and finishing the assignment until the very last minute. After that stress attack I promise myself that I will NEVER do that again... let's just say I'm not good at keeping that promise to myself. There is hope though, if you are someone who is all about changing the bad habit of procrastinating, here are some tips: -START WITH YOUR WORK THE DAY ITS GIVEN TO YOU! You don't even have to do a lot of it, just do little of it so you know that its getting done. -Try creating a work pattern, if you are someone who can't sit for long hours at the table doing work, like me, create a work pattern that suits you. Work for 1 hour, have a 10 minute break (eat, drink, do breathing exercises what ever relaxes you) and go back to working. This way you will be able to deal with the work better. -Finally, try to finish it a day before its due, whether its studying for an exam or doing an assignment try to finish it a day before, that way if there is a problem you have time to fix it. Anything can happen, believe me, I've had to go running around at 10 at night to print out my work because the printer didn't work. I hope these tips help you.
Good Luck with all your work! :) 8/28/2016 0 Comments 11PM Chocolate MousseSo it is nearly 11PM and I decided to make chocolate mousse. First of all... who starts making dessert at that time of the night?! Anyway, I started melting my chocolate on a double boiler when I realised I did not have enough eggs so I googled a chocolate mousse recipe that requires no eggs. After that is when I realised that I bought the wrong cream, instead of whipping cream, I bought dessert cream, not knowing the difference I tried whipping it for nearly 40 MINUTES!!! It was getting late, I was getting tired so I decided that I have two options here... either let the chocolate milk mixture go to waste or just mix everything and hope for the best in the morning. When I woke up in the morning, the first thing I did was go and check on my, what I had thought failed, mousse, and was so surprised to find that it actually set! I was actually proud of myself. Later in the afternoon I served it and everyone enjoyed it, there was no left overs. If you decide to make this, let me know if you enjoyed it. Nabila's Chocolate MousseIngredients:
250g Milk Chocolate 125ml Milk 1 1/2 tins Nestle Dessert and Cooking Cream (1 tin is 290g) 1/4 cup Castor Sugar Method - Melt the chocolate over a double boiler. - Heat the milk on the stove until it starts boiling. - Pour the milk into the melted chocolate and whisk. Leave aside to cool. - Empty the dessert cream into a bowl with the castor sugar and use a mixer to mix it. - Pour the cool chocolate mixture in the dessert cream and fold until it's mixed. - Pour your mixture into the the dish you wish to serve it in. - Leave for a few hours to set in the fridge. - Decorate as you please and enjoy. |
